With reference to your letter F.4440/36/10 of

the 7th instant, forwarding copy of Telegram No.32 from

H.M. Consul-General at Canton regarding the efforts of

General Li Chai-Sum to obtain arms and ammunition, I

am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty

to state that in the circumstances represented by Mr.

Brenan, They consider that the assurance regarding seizure and insurance should be given. My Lords, also

consider no objection should be offered to the supply

of motor boats.

A copy of this letter has been sent to the War Office, Air Ministry and Colonial Office,
